The folks at MIT are working on a new version of Appinventor (“Newblocks”), which includes a browser-based Blocks Editor (no more downloading/launching the Java app.)

It’s very much in development, but you can take a look and play around;  projects are not currently (but will eventually be) compatible across versions.

They’ve also added a gallery where you can share and comment on projects (similar to the Scratch galleries.)   Take a look.
